The judge interview is modeled after the style conducted at the national and international pageants. Contestants interview one at a time, seated in front of the entire panel of approximately five (5) judges. The judges are NOT provided a bio or information about the contestant other than what they see in the program book. Therefore, it is the contestant’s responsibility to prepare a 30-45 second “snapshot” introduction to open the interview. During this introduction, you may want to include your name, age, city, education, work, hobbies, service work, why you should be selected, and anything else that is quick and relevant to the interview. Following the introduction, the judges can openly ask questions. The entire interview, including the introduction, is four minutes in length. We encourage the judges to get to know you as a person, your qualifications for and ambitions in holding a state title.
